Fav for Craft CMS

FAQ

Do I have to change my templates?

No. Fav adds the tags to every front-end page automatically. If you would rather place them, call {{ craft.fav.tags() }} and the automatic injection stands down for that page.

Does it work on sites that don't call {{ head() }}?

Yes. Fav adds its tags to the finished HTML, just before </head>, rather than through Craft's head hook, so it works on every HTML page.

Will it fight my PWA plugin?

Not if you turn Fav's web manifest off for that site. Fav's manifest never makes a site installable on its own — it carries icons and colours, no start URL and no display mode — but two manifest links in one head is still one too many.

Can each site have its own icon?

Yes. Every site in a multi-site install has its own set, with its own image and colours.

Why aren't the settings in project config?

Because a favicon is branding, and the person who owns the brand should be able to change it on the live site without a deployment. Project config would put it behind allowAdminChanges.

Why is my logo smaller on the iPhone home screen?

That is the padding, which applies to the Apple touch icon and the Windows tile. Set it to 0 for edge-to-edge artwork.

Is it really free?

Yes. One edition, everything switched on, no licence key.
