The designer
Open a plan and click Open designer, or use the Designer link in the plans index.
Layout
- Toolbar — the area types as chips (the checked one is what you draw next), Snap to grid, Show underlay, Fit plan.
- Canvas — the plan frame, the grid, the underlay and every area, with the drawing toolbar on the left.
- Status bar — the cursor position in plan units, the area count (and the Lite cap), and the plan size.
- Sidebar — the selected area's details, and a searchable list of every area.
Drawing
- Pick a type chip — Hall, Stand, Facility.
- Choose rectangle, polygon or circle from the drawing toolbar.
- Draw. Rectangles are two clicks; polygons are clicked corner by corner and closed on the first corner; circles are a centre and a drag.
The shape is saved the moment it is finished: numbered, titled after its type, and assigned to the hall it is in. Drawing continues with the same tool until you pick another or press the tool again.
Corners snap to the plan grid when Snap to grid is on, and to the corners and edges of neighbouring areas while you draw — which is how a row of stands ends up sharing walls.
Editing

Every change is saved as soon as you let go. If the server refuses it — a duplicate code, a shape with no area, the Lite cap — you get a message and the shape goes back where it was.
Selecting
Click a shape (outside any tool) or an item in the list. The details panel lets you change the title, code, type, availability (Pro, stands only) and whether it is enabled — disabled areas are dashed in the designer and left off the public plan.
Edit details (or double-click) opens Craft's slideout with the type's full field layout — link the exhibitor, add a logo, whatever your layout carries.
Keyboard: Esc deselects, Delete deletes the selection after asking. Deleted areas go to the trash and can be restored from the Areas index.
Import and export (Pro)
Import / export above the canvas downloads the plan as GeoJSON or its stands as CSV, and imports a GeoJSON file. See Import, export and JSON.
Permissions
Viewing the designer needs View plans; drawing needs Draw and edit halls, stands and features. Without it the designer is read-only.
