Installation
Two commands, and a fresh install can publish a job and take a real application without opening the settings — once you have told it where CVs go.
Requirements
- Craft CMS 5.3 or later
- PHP 8.2 or later
There is no build step and no runtime dependency beyond Craft itself.
With Composer
composer require justinholtweb/craft-hire
php craft plugin/install hire
From the Plugin Store
Or install it from the control panel: Settings → Plugins, search for Hire, and install.
| Edition | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Lite | Free | Unlimited jobs and applications, CV uploads, the listing and filters, JobPosting structured data, applicant and team emails, CSV export, the JSON endpoint |
| Pro | $99, then $79/year for updates | Everything in Lite, plus more than one form, questions of your own, your own pipeline stages, stage emails, ratings and notes, duplicate detection, automatic retention deletion and the applicant status page |
See Editions for the full split.
What a fresh install creates
- One application form — first name, last name, email, phone, CV and a free-text note. The shape of every application form anybody has filled in.
- A four-stage pipeline — New, Shortlisted, Hired and Not proceeding.
- Three specification groups — Department, Job type and Location, with Department and Job type already holding a few terms.
None of it is created when the project config is arriving from another environment: the config already holds the forms, stages and groups, and seeding on top would make duplicates.
Choose a volume for CVs
This is the one thing to do before the first application. Go to Hire → Settings → Uploads & privacy and pick the asset volume CVs are stored in.
Hire never picks one for you. Until a volume is chosen, the CV field can't take an upload — and the settings screen warns you when the chosen volume has public URLs. Use a private volume: a CV is personal data belonging to somebody you have not hired, and a public URL is a guessable one. Hire's own download link goes through the control panel and checks the permission.
Check it worked
A Hire item appears in the control panel sidebar with Jobs, Applications, one entry per specification group, and Settings for admins. From the command line:
php craft hire/jobs/expire --dry-run
which says there is nothing to close.
Uninstalling
php craft plugin/uninstall hire
