Hire for Craft CMS

FAQ

How is this different from WP Job Openings?

WP Job Openings is the benchmark for what a careers plugin should do, and Hire covers the same ground — listings, filters, an application form, an applicant inbox. The difference is that Hire is Craft-native all the way down: jobs and applications are elements, so the field layouts, per-site URLs, drafts, permissions, search, relations, trash, element index and exporter are Craft's own rather than a second implementation of each.

Do I need Pro?

Not to run a careers page. Lite has no cap on jobs or applications, and includes the CV upload, both emails, the filters, CSV export, the JSON endpoint and Google for Jobs. Pro is for when more than one person is reading applications: your own stages, stage emails, ratings and notes, more than one form, questions of your own, duplicate detection, automatic retention and the applicant status page.

Why isn't the application form a Craft field layout?

Because the applicant fills it in, not an author. A field layout renders control-panel HTML for a trusted user, has no server-side story for an anonymous upload, and no concept of "the visitor must answer this". The Application element does have a field layout — for what your team records.

Will it show up in Google for Jobs?

Hire outputs JobPosting structured data built to Google's rules, including the two most often got wrong: a remote job needs both jobLocationType and applicantLocationRequirements, and employmentType has a fixed vocabulary that your own wording is mapped onto. Whether Google lists a job is Google's decision; an invalid posting is the one reason Hire can rule out.

What happens to applications when I delete a job?

They stay. The application keeps the job's title, so you can still answer "who applied for that" after the advert is gone.

Where do CVs go?

Into the volume you choose — Hire never chooses one for you. Use a private one. Downloads go through the control panel and need the View applications permission.

Does the careers page need JavaScript?

No. The listing, filters and pagination are rendered on the server and every filter is a link. A small script enhances it; it doesn't create anything.

Can I use my own markup?

Copy any of Hire's templates into templates/hire/ and edit it, or build the page yourself from craft.hire.results() or /hire/jobs.json.

What does it cost?

Lite is free. Pro is $99 one-off, with an optional $79/year renewal for updates.

Which versions are supported?

Craft CMS 5.3+ and PHP 8.2+. No build step and no runtime dependency beyond Craft.
